COCAINE CASES END IN JAIL TERMS.(Local)

Joseph Simmons, 22, of Troy, was sentenced to serve 6 months in Albany County Jail and was placed on probation for 5 years Tuesday following his conviction on a charge of criminal possession of cocaine.

The sentence was ordered by Albany County Judge Joseph Harris.

Simmons had pleaded guilty June 11 to fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, admitting he had possessed a quantity of cocaine Jan. 18 at the American Legion parking lot in Green Island.
